Spokane child among more than 80 victims in child grooming, pornography case in California
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. – A Spokane child is among more than 80 victims in a California child grooming and pornography case.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said Demetrius Carl Davis groomed children to make child pornography.
In December 2021, the Internet Crimes Against Children’s Unit performed a search warrant at Davis’ home, where screen recordings were found on his devices with images of kids “engaging in sexual acts,” the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office said Davis posed as an 11-year-old girl named “Lizzy,” to befriend and talk with kids on the internet “to groom them.”
In a list provided to the ABC 10 in Sacramento, a Spokane child is listed among dozens of other victims across the United States, as well as others internationally.
The sheriff’s office believes Davis may have talked with more than 100 children between late 2020 and December of 2021. They are asking parents to check their children’s devices and contact the Sacramento Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force if they believe their child sent material to someone named “Lizzy.”
4 News Now has reached out to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office for further information regarding the victim from Spokane, as well as the Spokane Police Department and Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
