Spokane 19-year-old faces up to 15 years in prison for attempted robbery at gunpoint
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — Isiah James Harrington pleaded guilty Wednesday to an attempted robbery at gunpoint, according to the U.S. Dept. of Justice.
Harrington is a 19-year-old from Spokane.
According to court records, Harrington found out that a member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe was carrying a large amount of cash. Harrington and a co-defendent, McKenna Marie Buss, used Snapchat to track that person to the Spokane Valley Walmart.
The pair then followed the victim’s car to a home in Plummer, Idaho. When the driver got out of the car, prosecutors said Harrington approached him with a gun and demanded the cash.
When neighbors came out of a nearby home to help the victim, Harrington and Buss then drove off without any money.
Harrington pleaded guilty to attempted robbery in U.S. District Court.
His sentencing has been set for November 21 at the federal courthouse in Coeur d’Alene. According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, he faces up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and a term of supervised release of up to 3 years.
Buss is set for trial on November 18, 2019.
