Spencer Luke Smith

January 24, 1982–August 31, 2019

Spencer Luke Smith passed away on August 31, 2019, at the age of 37 doing one of his favorite pass time riding motorcycles with his son and brother up in the mountains.

Spencer graduated from Priest River Lamanna High School in 2000. Following he went to Avista Line School. Once he completed Line School he moved to Denver, Colorado to start his apprenticeship with Mountain States. He topped out in 2004 and continued working for another two years in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. In 2007, his career started with PUD in Newport, Washington. The last three years he has represented his Brotherhood as the Shop Steward Local #77.

Anyone that knew Spencer, knows he was one of the hardest working guys around. He was very well respected by his crew. His hard-working do-it-yourselfer also came with one of the humblest and kindest hearts. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, hiking, water sports, anything to get a breath of fresh air. He was an independent man. He was intrigued on how something worked or how to repair or build it always learning, researching information, asking questions, laying out the plans, and going for it. Always willing to lend a helping hand.

He left behind two children, Chad and Eila, brother Matt and sister Brittany, parents Peggy and Van, many Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Spencer is going to be dearly missed by family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 9 at 11 a.m. at American Lutheran Church. Sherman-Campbell Funeral and Cremation Services in Priest River, ID is in charge of arrangements.

Family and friends are invited to sign the online guest book at shermancampbell.com.
