Speeding Car Crashes Into University Place Home

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. (AP) — A car speeding down a hill, went out of control on a curve, crashed into a house at University Place and caught fire.

Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer told KIRO-TV it was a miracle the three military men in the car were not killed in the crash early Thursday.

The driver ran off but was tracked down with a police dog and arrested. One of the passengers was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

A man who lives at the home says he and his parents are OK, but his father suffered minor burns putting out the fire.
