SPD: Couple arrested for stealing air compressor from open garage

SPOKANE, Wash. — A Spokane couple was arrested for reportedly stealing an air compressor from an open garage near Downriver Golf Course on Monday.
A resident living on N. Columbia st. called to report the air compressor had been stolen around 1 p.m. The door to the garage had been left open and the suspects took the device when the victim went into the house for a moment.
Spokane Police said the suspects, later identified as 32-year-old Robert J. Christerson and 28-year-old Jessica L. Bradley, fled the scene in a red Subaru station wagon. Fortunately, an observant neighbor got their descriptions, license plate number and reported the information to Crime Check.
Shortly after, an SPD Coporal spotted the suspect vehicle on W. Maxwell St. He stopped the car and identified the suspects, then found the air compressor in the backseat.
Christerson was found to have an outstanding warrant for fourth-degree assault – domestic violence. He is a convicted felon with his most recent conviction being for malicious harassment – hate crime and is on probation. Bradley was found to have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for third-degree theft.
Both suspects were arrested on their warrants and booked into the Spokane County Regional Jail Facility. Christerson was booked for second-degree burglary and Bradley was immediately released.
The air compressor was returned to the victim.
