Snow in the forecast: Winter returns to the valleys for Wednesday morning commute!
SPOKANE, Wash. — There’s only a little more sunshine in the forecast before the clouds move in and the snow returns to the region. Tuesday will start out with partly cloudy and cold conditions. Temperatures will start out in the teens. The clouds will increase throughout the day with a chance of valley snow by the evening.
There’s a possibility of a few snow flurries during the evening commute, but more likely, the snow will hold off until later in the evening and the overnight. The snow will pile up through Wednesday morning in the 2 to 3 inch range in Spokane. In Coeur d’Alene, however, snow totals could reach 6 inches in spots.
There is a Winter Storm Watch for Tuesday evening through Wednesday afternoon for the Coeur d’Alene area and Idaho Palouse, Central Panhandle Mountains and for Lewis and southern Nez Perce counties.
Temperatures will warm into the upper 30s on Wednesday and into the 40s on Thursday. That, along with rain on Thursday, will likely melt most of the valley snow.
