Smoldering Cigarette Butts Ignite Deck Fire
SPOKANE — An overnight deck fire at an apartment complex in North Spokane was caused by smoldering cigarette butts.
The apartment complex is along Garland near Monroe street and the fire started at about 1:30 a.m.
All residents were evacuated from the complex, but by the time firefighters arrived the fire was mostly out.
Only the deck was damaged.
