Shining Star Senior Night: honoring Othello’s Perez
SPOKANE, Wash. — We have been honoring our Senior student-athletes the last couple months because their final sports season was taken away from them. Tonight’s Senior night honors a young man from Othello who has a bright future in front of him.
Othello’s Isaiah Perez is an accomplished athlete. He won state three straight years in wrestling’s heavyweight division, and he’s signed a full-ride scholarship to play defensive end for BYU. Isaiah is missing out on his last season of high school track. He was nominated however because of who he is outside of athletics.
Isaiah is described as having a kind heart, humble, and a caring person. He’s the school’s ASB president and on the honor roll. Isaiah is also known for finding ways to include the school’s special needs students. In his spare time Isaiah has been a part of countless service projects.
We are thinking of everyone in the class of 2020 as they count down their final days of being in high school. Congrats on finishing up fantastic careers.
