Structure fire near Monroe and Boone sparked by crash
SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Fire Department is responding to a structure fire on North Monroe Street and West Boone Avenue.
The Fire Department says a truck crashed into an electrical pole, which caused the fire. People were trapped inside the car and were rescued. They also say the fire spread next to the ambulance station in the alleyway on Sharp and Boone.
SFD says the driver of the truck lost control going through the Monroe and Boon intersection and came through the Taco Bell parking lot, crashing into a pole and sparking the fire.
SFD says no one was critically injured. Three people were in the truck.
Saturday night’s events are still under investigation.
