Sex trafficking ring busted at Northern Quest

SPOKANE, Wash. — The FBI Spokane Child and Human Trafficking Task Force, along with several other local law enforcement agencies, busted a sex-trafficking ring at the Northern Quest Resort & Casino in Airway Heights.

Police say six women were involved in sex trafficking and/or commercial sex work. Task force members were able to connect one of the women to her family and begin an investigation.

The Spokane Police Department says these operations are used to identify sex traffickers and give resources to victims. Four of the women were connected to advocates from the Kalispel Tribe and the FBI to help move them out of the sex trade lifestyle. Another contact ended with a woman’s arrest on an assault and theft warrant.

SPD says human/sex trafficking is the fastest-growing criminal industry in the world. The FBI Child and Human Trafficking Task Force has members from the FBI, Spokane Police Department and Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone that has worries about potential human trafficking is asked to contact the task force at Inlandnwht@fbi.gov. You can also contact the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888, SMS “HELP” or “INFO” to 233733.
