Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued for North Idaho

SPOKANE, Wash.– All of North Idaho is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch Friday afternoon and evening until 8 p.m. Pacific time. This watch also covers Western Montana until 9 p.m. Mountain time.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means that severe weather is expected and highly likely to occur somewhere in the watch area. Anyone under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch should be prepared to take shelter if a Severe Thunderstorm Warning is issued.
A Watch means it is likely to happen soon, a Warning means it is happening now.
There have been three severe thunderstorms in the Inland Northwest already on Friday. Thursday also saw several severe thunderstorms, including one that dropped hail larger than golf balls on Liberty Lake and Hauser.
Because of lightning and gusty winds expected from storms on Friday, a Fire Weather Warning is in effect for much of Eastern Washington until 9 a.m. Saturday. Weather conditions could spread new wildfires quickly. Report any new fires or new/unusual smoke to emergency authorities immediately.
