Second Kitterman Murder Suspect Arrested In Seattle
SEATTLE — An Okanogan County Detective traveled to Seattle to arrest the man suspected of murdering a 25-year-old pregnant woman.
Brent Phillips, 38, was named by police following the arrest of Tansy Mathis, 29, Thursday morning. Police wanted the two in custody following the brutal stabbing death of Michelle Kitterman in early March. Kitterman was stabbed multiple times in the stomach.
Okanogan County Detectives and Spokane Police received information that Phillips was in a local rehab center, but when they arrived they learned he had left three days earlier for a rehab center in Seattle.
The Seattle Police Department aided in the capture of Phillips, who was located in the Seattle area and taken into custody without incident.
Detectives say additional evidence in connection with Kitterman’s murder was located when Phillips was arrested.
He was transported back to Okanogan early Friday morning and booked for First Degree Murder, Manslaughter and Evidence Tampering.
Detectives are still trying to put together a motive for the murder.
