Seattle Police Say 12-Year-Old Was Forced Into Prostitution

SEATTLE (AP) — Seattle police say a 12-year-old girl who was forced into prostitution is doing remarkably well now that’s she’s back with her family.

Sgt. Ryan Long say he’s impressed with her resilience and her resolve.

The seventh-grader’s family found her Sunday. Police arrested a 23-year-old man, Steven Lorenzo J. Leonard, Thursday for investigation of child rape and promoting prostitution.

The girl had been reported missing Jan. 9.

She was found after a woman who said she was the man’s fiancee called the girl’s family.
