Names of Silver Mountain avalanche victims released, search continues for missing skier

SHOSHONE CO., Idaho — The search for a missing Silver Mountain skier continues.

Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office reports that 120 search and rescue responders are involved in the operation, including several avalanche K9 teams. 2 Bear Air, an aviation rescue team based out of Whitefish, Montana, is also assisting in the search.

They also released the identities of the two men who died in the avalanche – 58-year-old Carl William Dick Humphreys of Liberty Lake, and 46-year-old Scott Michael Parsons of Spokane Valley.

The Sheriff’s Office previously withheld the names so they could notify the victims’ families first.
