Sept. 11: Emerson Tool Company announced a recall of RIDGID wet and dry vacuums that were sold at Home Depot. The recall is for the six-gallon model HD06000 and the nine-gallon model HD09000. The on/off switch on the vacs can become dislodged and expose energized wiring, creating a shock hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

Emerson Tool Company announced the recall of two models of Ridgid Wet/Dry Vacs that were sold exclusively at Home Depot.

Consumers who have these models should contact Emerson Tool Company for a free replacement of the powerhead assembly. Emerson can be reached by calling 1-888-847-8718 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT.

Home Depot sold about 208,000 units in the United States.

The vacuums are orange and black with for swivel casters, a carrying handle, a hose and accessories. RIDGID is printed on the front. The model number is located on a silver product identification label on the back of the vacuum’s powerhead assembly.

No injuries or incidents have been reported from the product, the CPSC said.
