Residents displaced after Pullman apartment fire
PULLMAN, Wash. — Five Pullman residents are displaced after a fire destroyed a fourplex unit on Military Hill Friday evening.
Pullman firefighters responded to a fire call at 144 NW Stadium Way around 8:30 in the evening with a report that the structure was fully involved in flames. Police officers arrived first and broke down a door of one of the units to wake up a resident and get him removed from the building.
The fire appeared to have started in a lower apartment unit and spread to an upstairs apartment. Firefighters from both Pullman and White County Rural District 12 prevented the fire from spreading to the other downstairs unit.
The American Red Cross was called to help shelter for the displaced residents. Two of the residents said they would be staying with friends and wouldn’t need assistance.
There were no injuries reported.
