Reports: Russian Repeats Warning On Missile Sites

MOSCOW — Russia’s foreign minister will meet with Poland’s prime minister Thursday.

Ahead of that meeting, the commander of Russia’s strategic missile forces is once again warning that Russian ballistic rockets could be aimed at U.S. missile defenses in Europe if the system is ever built.

In an interview published by a Polish newspaper Wednesday, Russia’s foreign minister also says Washington has destabilized the military balance between Russia and the U.S. He says the deal is “a mean action and a political mistake” by Poland.

The U.S. says the defense system is about Iran and not a threat to Russia. But Russian officials don’t see it that way and have even threatened to attack Poland with nuclear weapons.
