Registered sex offender moves to Soap Lake

SOAP LAKE, Wash. — A registered sex offender who served his sentence has moved to Soap Lake, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office said on Saturday.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Brian T. Clark, a level 3 registered sex offender, will be living in the 60 block of SR 26 West in Soap Lake.
Clark is not currently wanted for any crime.
In a statement, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office said it “has no legal authority to direct where a sex offender may or may not live. Currently in Washington State, there is no law or statute regarding where sex offenders may or may not reside; unless court-ordered restrictions exist, the offender is constitutionally free to live wherever they choose.”
