SEATTLE — The Weather Service forecasts significant rainfall Monday night and Tuesday in Western Washington with showery weather continuing across the state until the weekend.
Forecasters expect up to an inch-and-a-half of rain on the coast, up to an inch or more for the interior lowlands, and up to two inches over the mountains.
The snow level is expected as low as 5,000 feet by Wednesday which would leave the first significant snow of the season on the Mount Baker Highway, Washington Pass on the North Cascades Highway, Paradise at Mount Rainier and Hurricane Ridge on the Olympic Peninsula.
Forecasters say the rain blows in Monday on 20-to-30 miles per hour winds on the coast.
