Suspect arrested after standoff with officers at the Ephrata Walmart parking lot
EPHRATA, Wash. — The Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Ephrata Police Department say a suspect is now in custody after a standoff with officers at the Ephrata Walmart parking lot.
The man was barricaded inside an RV. Police tried to use tear gas in an attempt to get the man’s attention and compliance. When tear gas didn’t work, K9 Edo was sent in and took the man safely into custody.
The suspect was transported to Columbia Basin Hospital for treatment of K9 contact wounds, and tear gas exposure. Once he’s released, he will be lodged in the Grant County Jail.
