Power Outage In Spokane Valley As Truck Hits Power Pole
Around 1,900 Avista customers were without power for almost three hours after a truck hit a power pole at Broadway and Marguerite on Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened juat after 2:30 p.m. A truck pulling a trailer was trying to turn from Broadway onto Marguerite when he made contact with a power pole. The impact severed a power line and dopped it onto Broadway. No injuries were reported in the crash.
Avista crews arrived on the scene and shut down power to the surrounding area to take away the risk from the downed power lines. It is unknown when power will be restored to the area.
The affected area includes the busy Argonne/Mullan corridor between Interstate 90 and Sprague. Power use is up around the region due to the hot weather.
Power was restored to the area just before 5:30 p.m.
