Possible MT sighting of Idaho kidnapping suspect

Kootenai County searching for man who shot at ISP

Staff members at a homeless shelter in Billings called police after a man matching the description of an Idaho kidnapping suspect arrived at the shelter for dinner.

The Billings Gazette reports that the man was gone when police arrived at the Montana Rescue Mission Tuesday evening.

Regional law enforcement officers and the FBI are searching for Mitchell Lee Walck, 57, after a Rathdrum, Idaho woman reported she was kidnapped from her home at gunpoint and driven to Glendive, where she was released unharmed. The man took her car.

Officers in Rathdrum believe the kidnapper is the same man who shot at an Idaho State Police trooper who tried to make a traffic stop. Officials said he is considered armed and dangerous.
