Authorities in Moscow responded to the 800 block of Jefferson St. Tuesday afternoon following reports of yet another suspicious device that may potentially be an explosive.

The Spokane Bomb Squad was dispatched to the area around 12:30 p.m. to assist.

This is the second explosive device reported in Moscow in the last six days. The Moscow Police Department and Fire Department responded to an active explosive device near a mobile home on May 1. The device was deactivated on site.

On Sunday morning, the Pullman Police Department also found and diffused a pipe bomb at a local park. Pullman is just across the state line from Moscow.

It is unclear if the three incidents are related, but a release from the City of Moscow said they treated today’s incident with caution due to the proximity of the events.

Around 4 p.m., police deemed the most recent device to be “not suspicious”. However, the other two incidents are still being investigated.
