Police take person into custody in shooting investigation

Spokane police served a search warrant Monday afternoon in the 1600 block of N. Stone as part of their investigation into a Friday evening shooting that left one person wounded.

One person was taken into custody after officers served that search warrant.

The shooting happened at a residence located at 1607 E. Pacific around 10:30 p.m. Police report that a group of men knocked on the back door of the home and then fired approximately six rounds through the door.

One man inside the home was hit in the chest and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Earlier in the day, police were at the same residence investigating a body. Spokane Police Sergeant David Staben said Friday night that the person appeared to have died from a drug overdose.
