Police: Suspect arrested after he accidentally dialed 911

Police in Idaho Falls, Idaho, say an Oregon man accidentally dialed 911 while making an alleged drug deal that was overheard by dispatchers.

The Post-Register reports that Lawan Sanders, of Portland, is accused of several drug-related charges stemming from the Sept. 27 incident. He has a preliminary hearing Oct. 23.

Court records show dispatchers overheard three men talking about selling drugs. They triangulated the call and officers arrived at the location to find three men standing by a car.

Police found marijuana on one of the men. Officers also reportedly found pot inside the car.

Two men, from Shelley, Idaho, said Sanders told them he would sell them marijuana at a hotel where he and his girlfriend were staying. Police got a search warrant for that hotel room and found marijuana and other drugs.

Sanders and his girlfriend, Charity Fournier, were booked into Bonneville County Jail. They have posted bond.
