Police searching for suspect in death of elderly woman

BONNER'S COUNTY, Idaho — Police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with the death of an elderly woman.
The Bonner’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of an unresponsive elderly female discovered by her husband Wednesday at around 5:00 p.m.
When deputies arrived, she was already deceased. The victim has been identified as 78-year-old Shirley Ann Ramey, a Hope resident.
A suspect has been identified as Nathan Lane Utt, a 41-year-old transient type known to frequent local soup kitchens, charitable organizations, and food banks in the Sandpoint area.
Utt is described as 6’1″ tall, 180 pounds, and is possibly wearing a blue colored jacket or a green full-length trench-coat and generally carries a backpack.
If you have seen Utt or picked him up on HWY 200 near Trestle Creek prior to or around 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, please call Bonner County 911.
Utt should be considered armed and dangerous. DO NOT approach.
