Police Say Woman Shoots Two At La. College Before Killing Self

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Police say a young woman who killed two students before shooting herself on a Louisiana college campus was also a student at the school.

Authorities say the two victims were shot while in a classroom at Louisiana Technical College. A sergeant says there was “mass pandemonium” at the scene, and that an officer could “still smell gunpowder” when he went into the classroom.

Police blocked off streets around the small campus in Baton Rouge. One student says students were told to stay inside classrooms for about two hours before being released for the day.

School administrators and campus police have not commented on the incident.

Police have not released the names of the three women.
