Police Arrest South Hill Stabbing Suspect

SPOKANE — Late Monday afternoon police arrested the suspect in a stabbing which happened at the corner of 29th and Grand on the South Hill earlier in the day.

Authorities say that the victim, an 18-year-old man, was waiting for a bus when several people including the 16-year-old suspect approached him.

It’s not clear what happened next but at some point the suspect pulled out a knife that was approximately four to six inches long and stabbed the victim in the left-hand side.

The victim has non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The victim identified his attacker to police, who are familiar with that person. Authorities located the suspect’s car and late Monday afternoon they were able to track him down to the 100 block of E. Crown in North Spokane.

The suspect has been taken to the juvenile detention center.
