Police: Arlington teen injured protecting mother from abuse

Authorities say a 17-year-old Arlington boy was seriously injured while defending his mother from her husband.
The Daily Herald of Everett reports that the teen was thrown onto the ground head-first on Tuesday night, suffered a seizure and stopped breathing. The boy was taken to the intensive care unit at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
As of Thursday, the boy had regained consciousness.
The boy’s stepfather is accused of first-degree domestic-violence assault in connection to the incident. He remains at the Snohomish County Jail on $75,000 bail.
