SPOKANE, Wash. — Tuesday’s snowfall prompted a stern warning from the Washington State Department of Transportation’s eastern region.

The department tweeted a photo of semi trucks following too close behind its plows, with the plea: “Please give our plows space to clear the road. We plow at 35mph or less even when the speed limit is 70mph to properly disperse material on the roadway. Please back off!”
