SPOKANE, Wash. — Another day comes with more additions to the Carl Maxey Center from Mark Peterson and the 4 News Now Extreme Team.
On Monday, Peterson and the team spent time painting walls, installing new electrical wiring and plumbing, and laying concrete.
On day two, volunteers from Horizon Credit Union helped paint the walls. Flooring was also installed by United Floor Covering, along with some new cabinets donated by Kitchen Place. Capaul Stoneworks helped make countertops for the cabinets.
The Extreme Team is hard at work building a new library and outdoor gathering space at the Carl Maxey Center.
The new library was the vision of Sandy Williams, the center’s executive director, who was tragically killed in a seaplane crash in September.
Before her passing, Peterson had been in talks with Williams about her vision for the space. Now, the Extreme Team is making that happen.
Stay tuned for the big reveal Thursday on 4 News Now at 6 p.m.
