RATHDRUM, Idaho — One person was killed in a mobile home fire just north of Gardwood on Monday morning.

Northern Lakes Fire crews said they are awaiting confirmation from the coroner, but believe the victim was a man in his 50s. Public Information Officer Chris Larson said one woman was rescued.

The mobile home caught fire near N. Well Road and E. Ohio Match Road around 6 a.m. Crews said the fire was so bad and so hot, it was unsafe for them to go inside.

Larson said the mobile home was in a rural area and a lack of water resources posed an issue for crews.
