Palin Leaves Alaska, Embarks On Solo Campaigning
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Sarah Palin is hitting the road to campaign on her own.
The Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential nominee said farewell, for now, to friendly crowds in her home state Saturday before beginning to campaign without running mate John McCain.
She told a cheering crowd of more than 2,000 people that she will be back home in November, and would like to bring the Arizona senator with her.
Palin spent the past few days in her hometown of Wasilla, sheltered from the public and the media, except for three public speeches. She has campaign stops in Nevada and Colorado this weekend.
