Overnight snow will lead to a slippery Monday morning – Matt

What we’re tracking

Areas of moderate snowfall will move over the I-90 corridor, Palouse and as far north as Newport and Sandpoint overnight. Accumulations are expected to be light, with 1 to 2 inches at the most with a few spots like St. Maries having an outside shot at 3 inches.

The snow will have moved on by the Monday morning drive, but side roads and sidewalks will be slippery as we get the day started.

Plan your Monday

It’s going to be another cold start in the upper teens and low 20s. Some patchy freezing fog is also a possibility before sunrise. We’re not going to see much sunshine on Monday or the rest of the week either. Temperatures will reach the mid-20s for highs.

Spokane and Coeur d’Alene forecast

There’s a good chance for snow showers in the North Idaho mountains and flurries around Kootenai County on Tuesday. Other than that the early week looks quiet. That will change Thursday when more snow arrives. Snow will continue off and on from late Thursday through next weekend as a series of systems pass over the Northwest.
