Othello man, Moses Lake child killed in separate crashes Sunday

MOSES LAKE, Wash. — Two people, including a child, were killed in separate crashes in Grant County this weekend.
The first crash happened on Frontage Road E between Road E and D NE Sunday morning. Christopher Zufall, 43, was driving eastbound while 74-year-old Rosario Ramos Dominquez of Othello was driving westbound. Zufall’s vehicle drifted over the center and struck Dominquez’s vehicle head on.
Dominquez was taken to the hospital, where he died. Zufall and one passenger were also taken to the hospital, and the passenger was later released.
The second fatal crash happened Sunday afternoon on Dodson Road N and Road 4 NW. A 22-year-old man was driving south and attempted to make a left turn, but was hit by an oncoming vehicle. The crash impacted the passenger side rear of the vehicle, where a 2-year-old Moses Lake girl was sitting. The young girl was taken to the hospital, but later died.
Between the two vehicles, there were three adults and three children who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
“It was a tragic, heartbreaking day for so many,” said Sheriff Tom Jones. “Please join us in support and heartfelt condolences to the loved ones of those lost yesterday.”
