Police looking for driver who hit, killed pedestrian in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. — A driver hit and killed a pedestrian Monday night near N. Hamilton and Spokane Falls Blvd. then took off, according to Spokane Police.

The crash happened just before 9:00 p.m. The pedestrian, identified only as an adult man, was walking along southbound Hamilton near the I-90 on-ramp when the car hit him.

A following driver saw what happened and called 911. Responding officers and medics attempted CPR, but the man died at the scene.

Investigators found what they believe to be the suspect’s vehicle about a mile away from the scene. A K-9 unit was called in to search for the driver but did not locate the suspect.

South bound Hamilton near the I-90 on ramp was closed for several hours but was back open by early Tuesday morning.
