Officials Get Together To Discuss Whitley Fuel Fire
SPOKANE — A briefing has been called Friday to discuss where prosecutors stand with the Whitley Fuel Depot fire investigation.
Spokane County Prosecutor Steve Tucker called the meeting to talk about the ongoing arson investigation into last July’s three-alarm fire.
Assistant Fire Chief Brian Schaeffer said that he hopes to learn where prosecutors stand with the investigation and stay up-to-date on information regarding a possible cause.
Tucker said recently that there were between two and five suspicious people being investigated by Spokane Police, the Fire Department and the Gang Enforcement Team. So far, however, only one person has been arrested in connection with the arson and that person – Timothy Lee Jacobs – was subsequently released after prosecutors declined to charge him due to lack of evidence.
