Officer-involved shooting leaves one man dead in Deer Park

DEER PARK, Wash. — UPDATE: The Spokane County Medical Examiner has identified the man killed by a deputy in Deer Park as 31-year-old Josh A. Martin. He died from gunshot wounds.

A man died when he was shot by a Spokane County Sheriff’s deputy in Deer Park on Friday.
Deputies responded to the area of N. Sherman Rd. and W. Findley Rd. in Deer Park Friday evening after receiving a call about a man who had crashed his car into a ditch
Witnesses say the man was driving recklessly near the 37800 block of N. Sherman before crashing his car. When a responding deputy went to check on that man, he pulled a firearm and made a motion toward that deputy with it.
The deputy responded by shooting the man, killing him.
Neither the deputy nor the victim have been officially identified.
