Not Quite A Hit And Run

SPOKANE – Police are now reporting that a hit-and-run, which drew attention due to a unique vehicle-mounted video camera that one of the drivers had, was nothing more than a collision.

After interviewing several witnesses investigators found that the driver of the car who allegedly fled the scene of the collision did in fact stop their car and returned to the scene. Police say that driver clean up debris in the roadway and waited for 15 minutes to be contacted by the driver of the other vehicle.

Police now say that the two drivers didn’t see each other because they were on opposite sides of the Bancroft School on the northwest corner of Maxwell and Monroe.

The Traffic Unit said that based on their investigation no citations will be made to either of the two drivers.
