New Police Unit Charged With Serving Hundreds Of Outstanding Warrants

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A two-person team whose only job is to track down people with outstanding warrants has been put back to work at the Idaho Falls Police Department.

The team was disbanded in July due to staff shortages.

Now Josh Deede and Jessica Hunt have some catching up to do with more than 1,000 warrants on the list.

Idaho Falls Police Chief Steve Roos put the team back in action on January 6th and says many warrants would not be served if the squad didn’t exist.

Deede says before being disbanded the team served about 85 warrants a month.
