New CVSD school needs a name

The Central Valley School District is looking for a name for its new middle school. Thanks to the passage of the 2018 CVSD Construction Bond, the district recently broke ground on the new school at 1409 N Harvest Parkway. That is in the historic Telido Station area, off Mission Avenue between Barker Road and Harvard Road.

The district is asking its families to give input on the name. It is gathering ideas through a website until May 23. CVSD is asking for names that fit with the community. If you offer a name, the district asks you to provide the reason behind the name. From those submissions, the naming committee will provide a recommendation to the school board June 11.

The new school will open in the fall of 2019.
