Mother of missing Idaho children arrested in Hawaii

KAUA’I, Hawaii — The Kaua’i Police Department arrested Lori Vallow, the mother of two missing children, on an arrest warrant from Idaho.
Vallow was arrested after failing to produce her children, 17-year-old Tylee Ryan and 7-year-old Joshua “J.J.” Vallow, to authorities in Madison County. She had until January 30 to comply with her court order.
She was booked into the Kaua’i Police Department (KPD) Cellblock on a $5 million bail, charged with two felony counts of desertion and nonsupport of dependent children, according to KPD.
Authorities also report that she was charged with arrests and seizures, criminal solicitation to commit a crime, and contempt of court.
“First of all, we wish to thank the public for the massive outpouring of concern regarding this case,” said Todd G. Raybuck, KPD Chief of Police, “We also want to thank everyone for their patience while investigators worked diligently to comprehensively gather everything they needed in order to obtain this arrest warrant.”
KPD has been working with the Rexburg Police Department in locating Vallow and her husband, Chad Daybell.
According to KPD, Vallow will attend a court hearing – date undetermined – where it will be determined if she is extradited back to Idaho to face criminal charges.
