Moses Lake Police arrest attempted robber, found hiding near police department

MOSES LAKE, Wash. — Moses Lake Police arrested an attempted robber who was found hiding in a park behind the police department.

Police responded to a call on Friday morning, reporting an attempted robbery on Alder Street. The victim explained that a man pulled him into an alley and threatened to shoot him if he didn’t hand over his deposit bag.

The victim said he fought back, which caught nearby people’s attention, and when they came to help, the suspect ran off.

Officers then found the suspect, 22-year-old Chance Runaway Suarez, in the park behind the police department. He was found in possession of a stolen pistol, and was arrested.

Moses Lake Police Department says they are thankful for the witnesses who jumped in to help the victim.
