Montana Highway Patrol thanks people for “overwhelming” support, prayers for trooper shot

The Montana Highway Patrol (MHP) trooper shot Friday is still fighting for his life.

Wade Palmer, 35, was investigating an earlier shooting when someone shot him, in the small town of Evara, according to a statement from MHP.

He was airlifted to Salt Lake City in critial condition and is still recovering.

MHP shared an update on Twitter saying “there has been someone outside his room around the clock including his surgery room.”

Another tweet said the “support and prayers for Wade have been overwhelming.” MHP went on to thank everyone for their support.

A GoFundMe for Trooper Palmer raised more than $88,500 in just one day.
