Missoulan publisher Mike Gulledge will stay on as interim

MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — Mike Gulledge, who had announced his resignation from Lee Enterprises, will stay on as interim publisher of the Missoulian and the Ravalli Republic.
Gulledge had also been a company vice president and publisher of The Billings Gazette.
Lee named a new publisher for the Gazette and on Tuesday announced Paul McArthur with GateHouse Media would oversee Lee’s operations in western Montana.
Social media users uncovered McArthur’s past tweets and Twitter “likes,” including a “liked” tweet quoting Dinesh D’Souza that “the press isn’t so much the enemy of the people, more that it’s the enemy of the truth.”
Lee rescinded the job offer without saying why. The Missoulian reports the company asked Gulledge to continue to serve as publisher of the Missoula and Hamilton newspapers until a replacement can be found.
