Missoula gets $600,000 housing grant
HELENA, Mont. — State officials say the city of Missoula has been awarded a $600,000 grant to help provide down payment and closing cost assistance to prospective homeowners.
Eligible households can receive up to $35,000, through the Human Resource Council in Missoula.
Missoula Mayor John Engen says the program will help city residents get their first homes, which brings stability to the community.
The grant is available through a state housing program funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. It’s administered by the Montana Department of Commerce.
