Mica Moon’s Aerial Park offers obstacle course in the treetops for visitors

LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. — Mica Moon’s latest creation, “Aerial Park” is like no other.

Mica Moon Guide Fielding Demars explained, “we like to call it a high ropes course on steroids or an adult McDonald’s playground in the trees.”

The treetop attraction has three levels at 30 feet, 50 feet and 70 feet, with each bringing its own set of obstacle courses and challenges to all that dare to participate.

“Anything you can really think of we’ve got it around here. It’s pretty cool,” added Fielding.

There’s a slack-line, skateboard ride and a barrel bridge, to name a few.

It’s the brainchild of Heidi Stewart and her husband Rik who have been guiding people on zip line tours in Liberty Lake for the last few years.

“It was a new step,” Stewart said.

Planning started last year and in June, it opened.

“The first time seeing people go out, it was kind of a thrill! You’re like oh my goodness, it actually happened! We did it,” she said.

Safety is paramount for all who enter the park. Each participant is given a harness and two devices called ‘click-its.’

“Together, they have a special technology where once you are clipped in, you cannot take them both off at the same time,” Heidi explained.

Click-its allow your tour to be self-guided, but there is always a guide like Fielding out there to give you a hand and a boost of encouragement to tackle obstacles you didn’t think you could.

“At one point, it was my first time on the Aerial Park, so I know what it feels like,” he said.
