Mariners Open Spring With 10-3 Win Over SD

PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) — Jeremy Reed hit a three-run homer and Rob Johnson had a two-run shot for the Seattle Mariners in Thursday’s 10-3 charity game win against the San Diego Padres in Peoria, Arizona.

The M’s scored seven runs in the sixth inning to take a big lead.

Mike Morris and Jose Lopez had back-to-back RBI doubles for the M’s in the fourth.

Seattle opens Cactus League play Friday against the San Francisco Giants in Scottsdale. Erik Bedard starts for Seattle and former University of Washington star Tim Lincecum for the Giants.
