Man walking dog sought in Deer Park murder investigation

NORTH SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Spokane Co. Sheriff’s deputies cordoned off a house in a neighborhood off of Dalton Rd., west of Hwy. 395 and north of W. Owens Rd. near Deer Park Monday night.
Deputies said they were called to a house in the area around 6:30 p.m. Monday, where they found an older man dead inside a home. Investigators said they believed there were signs of a burglary. They called for the Major Crimes and Forensics units, and started the process to secure a search warrant to comb through the property.
Spokane Co. Sheriff’s detectives described a person of interest in the case Monday night as being a white man, about 25 years old, standing 5’10”, with a slim or average build, clean-shaven, wearing dark clothing, and carrying a briefcase or bag. They said he may have been associated with, or driving a dark-colored SUV. Deputies said they believed the man had a medium or large dog with him.
No information on the cause or manner of death on the man found dead was available late Monday night.
