Man jumps from Monroe St. Bridge, Fire Dept. still searching for him

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Fire Department continues their search for a man who jumped from the Monroe Street Bridge on Saturday.

Saturday evening, Spokane Police received a call from two witnesses who watched a man jump from the east side of the bridge.

The Fire Department arrived with the Water Rescue Team and the Spokane Valley Fire Department, and deployed personnel to both river banks to find the man. They searched the Spokane River between the Monroe Street Bridge and Sandifur Bridge for two hours before calling it off.

The man was not found.

According to the Spokane Fire Department, they are out again on Sunday with the Water Rescue Team, using a drone, kayaks and a jet-powered boats.
